DOES YOUR FOOD BUSINESS COMPLY WITH THE RECENTLY UPDATED FOOD HYGIENE REGULATIONS (THE R638)?


The Person in Charge (whose name is on your current Certificate of Acceptability) as well as the staff handling food on your premises

If you own any business that handles food you need to aware of the changes to the regulation. You will have until June 2019 to comply

with the training requirements for the R638 which (the training must be SETA accredited):

BASICS FOR FOOD HANDLERS

SETA ACCREDITED SKILLS PROGRAMME

The R638 (Regulations governing general hygiene requirements for food premises and transport of food), was promulgated in June 2018. This regulation requires that the person in charge of a food premises is trained in the principles and practices of food safety and hygiene, and that the training is accredited. This course is a FoodBev SETA accredited skills programme and is perfectly positioned to satisfy the training requirements for the persons in charge of a food premises as required by the R638. All Persons in Charge must be traineed by June 2019.

The learner will receive a Certificate of Competence endorsed by FoodBev SETA once deemed competent.
